Glossary

Key terms used throughout the Resonance platform.

Plain-language map

The platform's official terms have a history (some come from the May 2026 economy pivot, some from the game's lore). If you've read the plain-language Start Here track, here's how those plain words line up with the official terms you'll see in the deeper docs and in-app:

Plain wordOfficial termWhat it means
Your engagement / contributionActivity Score (AS)The score every action earns — it's what your rewards are based on
Your levelTune-InRises as you stay active; unlocks features and discounts

Both forms are correct — the plain words are how we describe things to newcomers; the official terms are what the in-app screens and these reference docs use.

Core Concepts

Activity Score (AS)

The per-event engagement metric introduced in the May 2026 pivot. Every qualifying action emits AS, which (1) feeds Tune-In level progress, (2) determines your weekly bounty pool share on brands running Bounty Mode, and (3) is the leaderboard scoring unit. Lives both as a weekly velocity stat (/cooldowns) and a lifetime cumulative number (Alchemy → Effects). Capped at 10,000 AS per user per ISO week since 2026-05-21 — the cap is hard, enforced atomically at the RPC. See: Activity Score.

AS weekly cap

10,000 AS per user per ISO week, hard cap. Once a user hits 10K AS in the current week, further events are logged (event_count + last_emit_at update normally) but emit 0 AS until the next Monday 00:00 UTC rollover. Enforced atomically inside the increment_activity_score_and_hz RPC. Replaces the earlier "soft cap" language — the cap is real and binding. A casual player at ~1,500 AS/week holds a meaningful slice of the bounty leaderboard without grinding.

Bounty Mode

A brand's operating mode where 0 RSNC is paid per event and 100% of the weekly RSNC budget is distributed as a Monday-morning pool, weighted by each user's AS share. Resonance Official is the canary brand, flipping Mon 2026-05-18. See: Bounty Mode.

Bounty Pool

The RSNC pot a brand distributes weekly under Bounty Mode. Computed as weekly_budget × bounty_pool_pct. Resonance Official's W21 pool = 50,000 RSNC.

RSNC

The universal loyalty credit on the Resonance network. Earned via bounty payouts (or per-event on legacy/additive brands), spent on perks and Kitchen items. RSNC is not cryptocurrency — it represents funded loyalty budgets from brands. Non-transferable between users.

USDSC Parity / Pay-or-Play

The 1 USDSC = 1,000 RSNC peg that applies anywhere RSNC is spent. Users can pay in either currency at any spend surface; the Tune-In discount applies to the RSNC side only (USDSC stays flat). See: Pay-or-Play Parity.

Perks

Rewards you claim by spending RSNC — discounts, VIP access, exclusive content, merchandise, Discord roles, Kitchen items, Quest Packs. Each perk has an RSNC price (with USDSC alternative at parity) and may have supply limits or weekly expiry.

Quest Pack

A weekly-expiring perk that unlocks additional event types for AS earning. Three tiers (Standard $1, Rare $3, Mythical $10). One per tier per user per week, expires next Monday 00:00 UTC. Currently dormant during W21 canary, flips to purchasable on Mon 2026-05-25. See: Quest Packs.

Brand

A company, community, or creator that uses Resonance to reward their audience. Brands fund RSNC and create perks. You earn from brands by participating in their communities.

Open-Loop Loyalty

Resonance's core model: RSNC earned from one brand can be spent at any other brand in the network. Unlike closed-loop programs (airline miles, coffee stamps), your rewards aren't trapped with one company.

Gasless

All blockchain transactions are paid by Resonance, not by you. You never need ETH, gas fees, or any cryptocurrency. Everything works like a normal app.

Alchemy

Tune In

The leveling system and progression spine. As of May 2026, AS-fed — your level rises with cumulative Activity Score (no more RSNC burn required). Your level does three things: (1) grants a permanent Discord role at each milestone, (2) gates Alchemy and Kitchen features (Mailbox roll count, Producer/Cooking slot counts, Quest Pack floors), and (3) applies a diminishing RSNC discount on spending (capped at 20% at L90 Resonate). As of 2026-05-21 levels follow the A4 per-tier Solfeggio curve (chunk costs 5K → 80K AS across the 9 tiers); previously published 100 × 1.15^N curve retired. Pre-migration levels are locked floors — V1 burners keep at least L10 (or their actual V1 level if lower) plus their entire historical RSNC tune burn was minted back. See: Tune In.

Access Model

The design principle that higher Tune-In tiers don't just make existing earning bigger — they unlock new earning paths that simply don't exist for lower-level users. Shipped as part of the April 2026 economy rebalance.

Unlock Event

A Discord event gated by a minimum Tune-In level. Ten events in the catalog: Thread Starter, Stage Host (L10), Deep Reply (L20), Conversation Starter (L30), Voice Sustained (L40), Mentor Reach (L50), Traffic Director (L60), Resonance Beacon (L70), Answered Question (L80), Dawn Patrol (L90). Each has its own trigger, charges, cooldown, and reward. See: Tune-In Events.

Frequency (Hz)

Your Tune In progression displayed as a Solfeggio frequency. Cosmetic — it represents your tier within the leveling system. Higher Hz = higher level.

Solfeggio Role

A permanent, cumulative Discord role granted automatically at each Tune-In milestone (L10, L20, …, L90). Nine roles in total, named after the tiers themselves (Foundation, Restoration, Liberation, Transformation, Miracles, Connection, Expression, Intuition, Awakening). See: Solfeggio Roles.

Solfeggio Tiers

The 9 named tiers in Tune In, each spanning 10 levels:

TierHzLevels
Foundation174 Hz1–10
Restoration285 Hz11–20
Liberation396 Hz21–30
Transformation417 Hz31–40
Miracles528 Hz41–50
Connection639 Hz51–60
Expression741 Hz61–70
Intuition852 Hz71–80
Awakening963 Hz81–90

Resonate

The infinite tier beyond Level 90. Levels continue with escalating costs and diminishing (but still meaningful) bonuses.

Generation Boost

A permanent multiplier from Tune-In that historically scaled per-event RSNC payouts. Capped at 5.0× (+400%) at L80+. Now scoped to additive (legacy) brands only — brands not yet on Bounty Mode. On Bounty Mode brands the per-event RSNC payout is 0, so Gen Boost doesn't apply on those brands; Tune-In's role on bounty brands is gating Quest Packs, unlocking Kitchen slots/Mailbox rolls, and discounting RSNC spends. After the canary flip on 2026-05-18, the additive path becomes the minority case as brands migrate.

Forge (now "The Kitchen" for crafting)

The Forge mechanic for minting Season Avatars is unchanged — it's the tradeable on-chain output layer. For crafting, the Forge has been superseded by The Kitchen (producers, recipes, equipment, mailbox). Foundry materials (ore, ingot, slag, plating, shard, gem, spark, rune) are being elevated to Kitchen V2 recipe inputs.

Charge Boost

A bonus that increases your per-period event claim limits. Granted by completed gear sets and by certain perks (Event Cap Multipliers) — not by Tune-In. If an event allows 3 claims per day and you have a +50% Charge Boost, you can claim 4 times. Applies on both additive and Bounty Mode brands — more claims = more AS emission either way.

Forge Material

The historical Foundry inputs (ore, ingot, slag, plating, shard, gem, spark, rune) — being elevated to Kitchen V2 recipe inputs as part of the May 2026 pivot. The Forge still mints tradeable Season Avatars from gear (the "happy distraction" output layer), but recipe-craft mechanics are now handled by the Kitchen. See: Forge.

Dissolver & Gear

Dissolver

The feature that converts perks into Gear Parts. Select 2+ perks, pay a 100 RSNC fee, and receive a random Part. Unlocked at Tune In Level 10. See: Alchemy Guide

Gear Parts

Items produced by the Dissolver. Each Part belongs to a slot (Head, Shoulders, Chest, Aura, Accessory, Trinket) and has a rarity (Standard, Rare, Mythic).

Slots

The 6 equipment positions for Gear Parts:

SlotExamples
HeadHelmets, crowns, halos
ShouldersPauldrons, guards
ChestArmor, robes
AuraEnergy fields, effects
AccessoryTools, weapons
TrinketShields, talismans

Rarity

The quality tier of a Gear Part. Higher rarity = more valuable.

RarityColorDissolve OddsMulch Value
StandardGray~89%200 RSNC
RareGold~10%1,000 RSNC
MythicPurple~1%10,000 RSNC

Mulch Value

The RSNC-equivalent value of a perk or Part when used in the Dissolver. Higher mulch value improves your odds of getting Rare and Mythic Parts.

Set Bonus

A permanent earning bonus activated by owning one Part in every gear slot (6/6) of the same rarity. Bonuses stack across tiers.

SetBonus
Standard 6/6+5% Generation, +5% Charge
Rare 6/6+15% Generation, +15% Charge
Mythic 6/6+25% Generation, +25% Charge

Batch Dissolve

Dissolve multiple perks at once in pairs. Select 4+ perks, and each pair gets its own independent rarity roll. Fee is 100 RSNC per pair.

Transmute

Combine 10 Parts of one rarity into 1 Part of the next tier. Standard → Rare (500 RSNC fee) or Rare → Mythic (1,000 RSNC fee). The output slot is random.

Earning & Multipliers

Streak

Consecutive days of activity. Each day you earn at least one reward extends your streak. Longer streaks increase your earning multiplier (up to 2x). Missing a day resets it.

Milestone

A goal defined by server admins. Reaching a milestone (e.g., 10,000 RSNC earned, 30-day streak, 500 messages) earns you a Discord role and RSNC bonus.

Server Multiplier

A bonus set by server admins that applies to all rewards in their server. Typically 1x (no bonus) but can be increased during events or promotions. On additive brands it scales RSNC; on Bounty Mode brands it scales AS emission, which in turn scales your weekly pool share.

Earning Cap

On additive brands, the maximum multiplier applied to a single reward event (10x base reward) — prevents runaway stacking. Tune-In Generation Boost is applied outside this cap. On Bounty Mode brands this cap doesn't apply (per-event payout is 0); the relevant cap is the per-recipient bounty cap of 1,000,000 RSNC / brand / week, enforced in the Monday payout cron.

Quality Gate

The system that evaluates messages for genuine contribution before awarding RSNC. Rewards thoughtful, original participation and filters out spam, copy-paste, and low-effort content. See: Message Quality

Credibility

A hidden reputation score that influences your earning threshold. Users who consistently contribute genuine content maintain high credibility. Users who spam or game the system face temporarily reduced rewards. Recovers naturally with genuine engagement.

Alias (Identity)

In Resonance's identity model, every account you link (Discord, Twitter, Google, additional wallets) is an alias on your single canonical identity. One person, one balance, many doors in. See: Link Your Accounts.

The Kitchen

Kitchen

Resonance's meta-game added in the May 2026 pivot. Your personal base with 5 areas: Harvest (producers), Cooking (recipes), Equipment Rack, Mailbox, Storage. RSNC is now the in-game currency for kitchen spends. See: Kitchen Overview.

Producer

A passive-ingredient-generator perk. Lives in a Harvest slot, has 3 stat axes (rarity %, frequency, quantity), and accepts ingredient seeds in its sub-slots. See: Producers and Sub-Slots.

Sub-Slot

A container inside a Producer where you plant ingredient seeds. Sub-slot count scales with tier: Standard=2, Rare=3, Mythical=4 (+1 per Ascension level, max 7 at A3). A sub-slot holds two things: leveled picks (Quality / Frequency / Rarity points you've bought with RSNC — permanent forever, persist across seed consumption and family swaps) and a FIFO queue of seeds (consumable inventory). The head seed is what's actively producing; queued seeds auto-promote as each one burns. See: Producers and Sub-Slots.

Seed

A consumable ingredient inventory item planted in a producer's sub-slot. Each seed produces ingredients for a fixed number of harvests based on its rarity, then burns up: Standard = 1 harvest, Rare = 2, Mythical = 3. Plant multiple at once with multi-select; they stack into the sub-slot's FIFO queue. Swap the head seed without losing your sub-slot levels via the Swap head seed flow.

Solfeggio tier

A named 10-level band of Tune-In with its own A4 chunk cost. Nine tiers exist (Foundation, Restoration, Liberation, Transformation, Miracles, Connection, Expression, Intuition, Awakening), each spanning 10 levels (L1–L90), plus Resonate L91+ beyond. Each tier has its own total AS cost — see Tune In — The A4 per-tier curve. Within a tier, the 10th (milestone) level is the most expensive.

Ascension

A Mythical-tier upgrade path (A0 → A3) that multiplies stat ceilings and (for producers) adds sub-slots. Paid in RSNC. Each level multiplies rarity/quantity (×1.0/1.3/1.6/1.9) and reduces frequency (×1.0/0.85/0.7/0.55).

Recipe

A combination of ingredients that produces an output (consumable buff, equipment, ascension token, gear-input material, or producer). Recipes have a level, time-to-cook, base success rate, and category (Permanent, Flash, Limited, Brand-exclusive, Seasonal). See: Recipes and Cooking.

Cooking Slot

An active slot for running one recipe at a time. 1 free at L1, 2 at L5, 3 at L15 (cap on permanent). Temporary 7-day slots available for $5/$10/$15 USDSC or RSNC parity.

Mailbox Pool

The daily free roll from the Mailbox. 1 base roll, +1 every 20 Tune-In levels (max 5 at L81+). Signal subscribers get +1 rarity bias on each roll. See: Mailbox.

Technical

Soneium

The blockchain network that Resonance runs on. Fast, low-cost, and you never interact with it directly — all transactions happen behind the scenes.

NFT (in Resonance context)

A digital certificate stored on Soneium. When you claim a perk, it's recorded as an NFT. Think of it as a digital receipt that proves you own the perk. You don't need to understand NFTs to use Resonance.

Wallet

A secure digital account created automatically when you sign up. Stores your RSNC balance and claimed perks. You never need to manage it — Resonance handles everything.

Privy

The authentication provider that powers Resonance accounts. Handles secure sign-in via email, Google, Discord, Twitter, and more. Enterprise-grade security.
