The Chit Shop

The Kitchen cloth of the Hollow Merchant trades in Chits 🪙 — the Kitchen's prestige currency. Everything on this cloth empowers the Kitchen itself.

Where Chits come from​

You earn Chits two ways, roughly a handful a day either route:

  • Chef's Challenge — cook and claim the day's featured recipes.
  • Call to Builders — turn in the Merchant's daily requested materials for Chits and climb a weekly ladder.
Earn-only, non-transferable

There is no way to buy Chits with Resonance or real money. A dedicated cook earns them a little faster than a casual one, but no one can skip the line.

The wares​

All Chit wares are open to every player — your balance is the only gate.

  • Recipe books — 15 Chits each unlocks a world's recipe block for a craft (its gear line, materials or ascension pieces). You can also cook a book from 5 world Pages — the Chit buy is the shortcut. See Cooking Mastery & Recipe Books.

  • Research Center access — the one-time unlock for the Research Center, your Scroll workshop. It costs 10 Chits + 10 Crests together — the one ware the stall charges from both cloths at once, so you'll spend a little Journey currency alongside your Chits.

  • Temp Burner — a 7-day temporary cooking slot paid in Chits: 3 (small) / 6 (mid) / 9 (large).

  • Snack Shop — mint a Flash-snack dish directly, priced by rarity: Standard 1 · Rare 3 · Mythic 5 Chits. One of each dish per week; the shop shows each dish's artwork and its activation effect.

  • Ascension Fast-Track — the same capstone shortcut offered on the Crest cloth (Medallion 5 · Soul 6 · Core 15) is buyable here with Chits at identical prices.

    Being retired — closes Aug 4, 2026 (18:00 UTC)

    The Ascension Fast-Track is sunsetting on both cloths. After the cutoff the stall stops offering it and the forge becomes the only path to a capstone again. Grab any pieces you want before then.

Fast-track with either currency

The Ascension Fast-Track is offered on both the Chit and Crest cloths at the same prices (5 / 6 / 15). Spend whichever currency you have more of — a Chit-rich cook and a Crest-rich raider each reach the capstone the same way. (See Crest Shop for what each piece does.)
