Snacks (Cooked Dishes)

Updated 2026-06-08.

A snack is a dish you cook in the Kitchen and then activate for a temporary boost. They're the payoff of cooking: you spend ingredients, you get a snack, and the snack makes something else you do go better — more rewards, more mailbox rolls, a protected streak, stronger producers, or better cook results.

The one-line model

Cook a recipe → get a snack → activate it → enjoy the boost for a while. That's the whole thing.

Where snacks live

Cook in the Cooking Area (Recipes and Cooking). When a cook succeeds, the result lands in your Snacks tab (the Kitchen's Outputs sub-tab, renamed Snacks). Open it to activate Rare and Mythical cooked dishes once you've made them.

Some snacks fire automatically on cook; the higher-tier ones you activate from the Snacks tab when you want the boost — so you can save a big one for the right moment.

What snacks do — the effect families

Snacks are easiest to understand by what they boost. Every cooked-dish effect falls into one of these:

Not every cook makes a "snack"

Cooking can also output items — a random equipment piece, a producer, an Ascension token, or a Forge material — rather than a consumable boost. Those go to Storage, not the Snacks tab. The recipe roster shows exactly what each recipe produces.

How to make and use one

  1. Pick a recipe whose Output is the boost you want (see the roster).
  2. Cook it in a cooking slot. Cook time and success depend on your stats and equipment.
  3. On success, the snack appears in your Snacks tab.
  4. Activate it when you want the boost. Timed effects (e.g. "+10% AS for 8h") start counting from activation, so activate right before a session.
Stack snacks for big sessions

Effects stack with your equipment and Tune-In contribution. A classic combo: activate a mailbox-roll snack + an AS-boost snack right before a busy evening, so a high-roll mailbox and your best earning window line up. (See the Mailbox strategy notes.)

Rare and Mythical cooked dishes

Higher-tier recipes produce stronger, longer-lasting snacks. The Rare and Mythical cooked dishes are the ones you activate from the Snacks tab (rather than firing on cook), so you control the timing. Mythical dishes — like the Mythical Solar Smoothie — carry the biggest, longest boosts.
