How You Get Stronger
Resonance has a lot of surfaces, but they all feed one loop. Once you can see the loop, "what should I do next?" answers itself.
The loop
Cook in the Kitchen → build & gear your fighters → climb the Journey → bank loot & Essence → back to the Kitchen.
- The Kitchen makes the raw materials, gear parts, snacks, Essence, and glyphs your fighters run on.
- Your fighters turn that into power — forge them, gear them, etch Notes, grow Essence, ascend.
- The Journey is where power pays off: clear worlds and push difficulty for loot, Essence, and RSNC — which funds the next lap.
- The Arena is the PvP proving ground for the team you build.
Nothing here is a dead end — every surface hands something to the next.
The five power levers
Every "get stronger" action moves one of these. Knowing which lever you're pulling — and in what order — is the whole game.
| Lever | What it does | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Gear | Your primary power — roughly three-quarters of a built fighter. | Journey drops + Forge crafting |
| Essence | Grows a fighter's stat budget toward its current cap. | Journey clears, Kitchen cooks |
| Ascension | Raises the ceiling — each of 5 stages opens the next Essence tier. It doesn't multiply; it makes room. | A capstone Kitchen cook, one stage per world |
| Skills & glyphs | Your combat kit — a specialization built with glyphs. | Cook Glyph Transmute, spend on the tree |
| Notes & Frequency | Etch Notes into gear for extra stat lines, up to each piece's Frequency budget. | Melt gear at the Scribe · buy from the Note Shop |
Slot the gear you have (fast, free), field a specialization, then grind Essence toward your cap — and only ascend once you've maxed the current bracket. Ascension opens the room; Essence and gear fill it.
What to prioritize, by stage
🌱 New — get the loop turning
Forge your first fighter on the Roster, slot whatever gear your starter kit and daily Mailbox give you, and clear Cinderfall chapters in the Journey. Cook the everyday recipes and keep your Tune-In level climbing — it unlocks Kitchen slots, Mailbox rolls, and discounts. Don't over-think builds yet; just play the loop.
🔨 Scaling — build the engine
This is where the game opens up:
- Grow the Kitchen — unlock producer plots and cooking slots, build per-craft Mastery, and buy recipe books to open new recipe blocks.
- Climb the world ladder — beat each world's Herald to open the next. Each world means a new gear band and a new Ascension stage — expect to re-gear and ascend as you go, not coast.
- Push Dissonance — the difficulty dial. Higher Dissonance pays higher-rarity, more numerous loot, so run it as high as your team can clear.
- Etch Notes — start turning good gear rolls into portable stat lines and socketing them into the pieces you actually field.
💎 Endgame — the summit
Max worlds and gear, forge a Celestial Relic, optimize your Notes and etching, push Dissonance as far as it goes, and climb the Arena ranks. Your Kitchen now runs itself and funds it all.
