The Kitchen

The Kitchen is where you grow ingredients and cook them into useful things — snacks, gear, and Avatar materials. This page helps you decide where to start and answers the single most common blocker: why is my Kitchen empty?

Link Discord first — the Kitchen won't load without it

Your Kitchen state is keyed on your Discord identity. Until you link a Discord account, the Kitchen can't load your cultivators or recipes and will look empty. Open Settings, link Discord, then come back. (Arena needs Discord for the same reason.)

The Kitchen lives at play.rsnc.network and has two sub-tabs: Kitchen (grow and cook) and Inventory (everything you own). The old Alchemy tab was retired on 2026-06-21 — Tune-In moved to Settings → Profile.

Feeling overwhelmed? Want the long-term plan?

Read The Big Picture — Progression & Endgame first. It answers "what's this all for?", lists every ceiling (slots, levels, cultivator types, max Kitchen Level), and gives a stage-by-stage path so you know exactly what to prioritize.

If you're brand-new

Go straight to the Kitchen Quickstart — it walks you from zero to a working kitchen in about 5 minutes of reading. Come back here once you've planted your first cultivator and cooked your first recipe.

The loop (read this once)

Three steps, in a cycle:

  1. Plant cultivators — passive faucets that drip ingredients (plus RSNC) into your Inventory while you're away. (Cultivators were formerly called Producers.)
  2. Cook recipes — spend those ingredients to craft outputs: snacks (buffs), gear (equipment), and Avatar materials.
  3. Use the outputs — activate a snack, gear a burner to cook better, or feed materials into your Avatars.

Cultivators feed recipes; a geared burner makes each cook pay off more. That's the whole flywheel.

CULTIVATORS → COOK → OUTPUTS

Good to know

Both cultivators and equipment level up by cooking a dedicated Reforge upgrade recipe — the cook binds to the specific piece you started it from, and claiming auto-applies the level bump. You have 6 cook lanes at full tilt (3 permanent + 3 temporary), enough to run several Reforge cycles in parallel.

  • Cook reveal survives hard refresh (2026-06-04). The reveal payload persists to sessionStorage so refreshing mid-reveal re-opens it on next mount — no more lost celebrations after an accidental Ctrl+R.
  • Cultivator Forge gear-part drops + Ascension (A0–A5) (2026-06-02). Each cultivator tick rolls a Forge gear-part drop chance that scales with its planted seeds' rarity (gear parts convert to Avatar Essence). Ascension multiplies both yield and the weekly drop cap.
  • Carryover from May 21: equipment stats are flat points (not percentages), seeds are consumable with sub-slot FIFO queue, cultivator ROI is 5 RSNC per ingredient (2026-05-25 retune from 13) with a 15K-RSNC per-harvest cap.

Three tiers, structurally distinct

Every Cultivator and Equipment item exists in three tiers. The tier is readable at a glance from any marketplace thumbnail — a Mythical item is structurally a different object from a Standard one, not just a recolor.

RareTeal + violet, glossy, multi-layer2Mid

Sub-slots grow +1 per cultivator level (up to 12 at L10). Ascension does not add sub-slots — it adds yield and gear-part drops.

And Legendary equipment exists only as the output of L60+ Apotheosis chain recipes. See Advanced — Recipe Chaining.

How the Kitchen plugs into the rest of Resonance

  • AS earning — Successful cooks emit Activity Score into a 5,000-per-week crafting bucket, separate from the 10K-per-week chat bucket. Both feed the same weekly bounty settlement.
  • Tune-In — Your level gates slot unlocks, mailbox roll counts, and the base point contribution to all three kitchen stat axes (Skill / Speed / Elegance).
  • Forge — A subset of recipe outputs feed the Forge avatar pipeline. Foundry materials from Forge (ore, ingot, slag, plating, shard, gem, spark, rune) are being elevated to Kitchen V2 recipe inputs.
  • Signal Subscription — +1 cultivator plot, a Signal cooking stall (+10% Skill / +10% Elegance / +50% Speed), mailbox priority (+1 rarity bias on the daily roll), Quest Pack discovery feed.
  • Pay-or-Play Parity — Every RSNC spend has a USDSC alternative at parity.
