The Forge
For the crafting loop (combining ingredients to produce items, equipment, and consumables), see The Kitchen — the Kitchen V2 system that shipped alongside the May 2026 pivot is now the primary crafting experience.
The Forge remains as the output layer for minting tradeable Season Avatars from gear parts — a "happy distraction" on top of the Kitchen, not a replacement. Foundry materials (ore, ingot, slag, plating, shard, gem, spark, rune) are being elevated to Kitchen V2 recipe inputs.
The Forge is where you turn six Gear Parts into a tradeable Season Avatar — a single ERC-721 NFT that becomes your persistent on-chain identity inside Resonance. Each season has its own visual theme, its own contract, and a finite forge window. Once you've forged, the Set Bonus you earned becomes a permanent badge — even after the gear is consumed by the ritual.
What is the Forge?
The Forge mints a Season Avatar NFT: a single ERC-721 token that represents your character for the season. The avatar is generated from the six Gear Parts you select (one per slot), styled in the season's visual theme, and conditioned on your Resonance profile picture so your face is preserved.
| Season | Theme | Contract |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | Volcanic — molten lava, basalt, magma | 0x42b8c769a355410539bfcf78607939F7ed5B120F |
The Season 1 contract lives on Soneium mainnet (chain ID 1868) and is viewable on Blockscout.
Why forge?
- Persistent identity. Your Season Avatar travels with you across the network — it shows up wherever your wallet does.
- Tradeable. The token is a standard ERC-721 on Soneium and can be listed on any compatible marketplace.
- Permanent Set Bonuses. Earning a 6/6 set converts the bonus into a permanent badge on your account. The boost stays even after the gear itself is consumed by the forge. See Gear & Sets for the bonus values.
- Seasonal collectibility. Each season has a unique theme and a finite mint window. Once a season closes, no more avatars of that style can be created.
When can I forge?
The Forge is open during a defined window each season. Outside that window, forging and rerolling are both blocked.
| Season | Opens | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 — Volcanic | 2026-05-21 | Upcoming |
You can forge inside the active window if you meet two requirements:
- Tune-In Level 5 or higher — see Tune In
- 6 active Gear Parts, one for each slot (Head, Shoulders, Chest, Aura, Accessory, Trinket)
Mix-and-match across rarities is fine — any combination of Standard, Rare, and Mythic Parts works as long as every slot is filled.
How to Forge — step by step
- Reach Tune-In Level 5. This is the minimum frequency required to use the Forge.
- Collect 6 Gear Parts — one in every slot. Use the Dissolver to convert perks into Parts, and Transmute if you want to chase higher rarities.
- Open the Forge tab in Alchemy.
- Pick one Part per slot. The trait breakdown card updates live as you select.
- Hold the FORGE AVATAR button for 4 seconds. The foundry hum builds and the ritual begins.
- Pay the forge fee — 500 RSNC, or 350 RSNC if you're a Signal Subscriber (30% off).
- Wait for generation. Avatar art is generated in roughly 30 seconds, conditioned on your profile picture and the six selected Parts.
- Avatar mints to your wallet as a Season Avatar ERC-721.
- Your 6 Gear Parts are consumed. The Set Bonus you earned remains as a permanent badge on your account.
- Reroll if you don't love the result. The token stays the same; the image and metadata are regenerated. Reroll cost escalates each time and caps at 7 rerolls.
- Forge again. Your first mint per season is free; mints #2 through #6 are paid in USDSC. See the costs table below.
Costs
Forge fee (first mint per season)
| User | First forge |
|---|---|
| Standard | 500 RSNC |
| Signal Subscriber | 350 RSNC (30% off) |

Rerolls regenerate the avatar's image and metadata without minting a new NFT. Cost escalates each time and is capped at 7 rerolls per avatar.

| 2 | 2,500 RSNC |
| 3 | 5,000 RSNC |

Buying additional mints (#2 through #6)

Nuances and details
Contract and standard
- Contract address:
0x42b8c769a355410539bfcf78607939F7ed5B120F(Season 1) - Network: Soneium mainnet (chain ID 1868)
- Standard: ERC-721 — tradeable, transferable, single instance per token
- Owner: Resonance dev wallet
0x411B8c1E6Bbc05f07be3eE2f506E3Ad6254fdA3a. Owner permissions are limited to mint authorization; there is no take-back authority over a minted avatar.
How the art is generated
Avatar generation runs on Hugging Face Flux Kontext img2img. Your Resonance profile picture is used as the input image so your face and identity are preserved. The model applies your six selected Gear Parts as the costume and the season's theme as the visual style.
Each Part has 20 randomized variants under the hood. The variant chosen at mint is inscribed in the NFT's metadata, so two avatars built from the same loadout will look subtly different.
If you don't have a profile picture set, generation falls back to a generic avatar.
The emblem
Every Season Avatar carries a hard-fixed RESONANCE / SEASON 1 watermark in the top-right corner. It's part of the image itself, so authenticity reads at a glance from any marketplace listing.
Set Bonuses become permanent badges
The Forge consumes the six Gear Parts you select, but the Set Bonus they earned does not disappear with them. Once you've ever held a complete 6/6 set of a given rarity, the bonus converts to a permanent badge on your account.
| Set ever held | Permanent badge | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| 6/6 Standard | Standard Set | +5% Generation, +5% Charge |
| 6/6 Rare | Rare Set | +15% Generation, +15% Charge |
| 6/6 Mythic | Mythic Set | +25% Generation, +25% Charge |
Badges stack across tiers in the same way as live sets — see Gear & Sets.
Tradability
Season Avatars are standard ERC-721 tokens and can be listed on any Soneium-compatible marketplace. The on-chain tokenURI points at metadata and image hosted on Resonance storage. A reroll updates the off-chain metadata but the on-chain token ID stays stable — existing marketplace listings remain valid through a reroll.
Failure handling
If anything in the pipeline fails — image generation, upload, or the on-chain mint — a cron retries up to 5 times. After a terminal failure, the forge fee is automatically refunded and your gear is restored to your inventory. There is no path where you lose RSNC and end up with no avatar.
Privacy
Avatar generation reads your Resonance profile picture as the source image for face preservation. If you don't want your face in the avatar, change or remove your profile picture before forging.
Costs at a glance
| Action | Standard user | Signal Subscriber |
|---|---|---|
| First forge per season | 500 RSNC | 350 RSNC |
| Reroll #1 → #7 | 1,000 → 50,000 RSNC (escalating) | same |
| Buy mint #2 | 1 USDSC | 1 USDSC |
| Buy mints #2 → #6 (total) | 46 USDSC | 46 USDSC |
| Per-season mint cap | 6 | 6 |
Forging and rerolling both gate on the season's active window. If a season has closed, you can still hold and trade your avatar — you just can't mint or reroll until the next season opens.
The 30% forge discount stacks with the rest of the Signal subscription bundle: +1 Kitchen producer slot, +1 Mailbox rarity bias, 6 gear vouchers/month, 20% off Dissolver and Transmute, and the legacy +6% reward rate (additive brands only — excluded from bounty payouts as anti-farm protection). The forge discount applies to the first forge fee only; reroll and additional-mint costs are the same for everyone. See Signal Subscription for the full bundle.
