The Roster

The Roster is your muster hall — a top-level tab where you see every Avatar you own, their gear and Ascension state, and where you build the teams you send into battle. It's also home to the Forge Avatar button.

One thing to know up front: you have one roster, and it feeds everything. The same Avatars fight in the Journey and defend in the Arena — there's no separate PvE and PvP bench.

Teams — threes, up to six of them

A team is always exactly 3 Avatars. You start with 3 team slots and can unlock up to 6 in total.

  • Any Avatar can fill any slot — no role-lock on team spots. A Mender is recommended for staying power, but the other two are yours to shape.
  • An Avatar lives on one team at a time. Drop it onto a new team and it moves there (never duplicates); drop it onto an occupied spot and the two swap. The app won't let you save the same fighter on two teams.
  • Team Power on each card is the same number the Journey advisory and Arena use, so you can compare a team against a node's recommended power at a glance.

Buying team slots 4, 5, and 6

The first three team slots are free. Slots 4, 5, and 6 unlock permanently, one at a time, each for 5 Crests or 10,000 RSNC (pay-or-play parity — pick whichever you have). Once bought, a slot is yours for good and can be entered in the Arena like any other.

Setting Arena defensive teams

Any saved team can be flipped ON for Arena PvP with a toggle on its card — that enters it as a defensive team other players can be matched against. You can run up to 3 teams as Arena defensive teams at once. Teams left off are Journey/personal-use only. See Battle — The Arena for how defense and MRR work.

When an Avatar is "busy"

Because one roster feeds every surface, an Avatar can be committed elsewhere — on an active Journey run, out on a Militia bounty or campaign, or working a producer or farm. Committed Avatars show an amber lock with the reason, and can't be double-booked onto a team until they're free. A deep bench is what lets you keep teams fielded on several surfaces at once.

Managing the roster

  • Add / change a team — pick an Avatar and choose a team + slot.
  • Remove or swap — clear a slot, or drop a fighter onto an occupied one to trade places.
  • Save — team changes save together; each team you save must have all 3 slots filled.
  • Revert / Disband — undo unsaved edits, or disband a team entirely (its Avatars are untouched).
  • Sort & filter the Avatars list by Power (default), class, role, element, Ascension stage, rarity, or a single stat.
  • Chests and Glyphs have their own tabs on the Roster for opening gear chests and spending your glyph currency to build specializations.

Forging from the Roster

The Forge Avatar button lives right here. Forging is instant — spend Avatar Essence (or RSNC) and your new fighter is minted straight into the roster, no cook timer. See Forging Avatars for the standard vs. premium (pick-your-class) options.

Starter Avatars are frozen

The Avatars from your starter kit can't be upgraded or ascended — they're training wheels. Forge your own Avatar to get one you can grow with Essence, gear, and Ascension.
