Buying on the Market
The player market lives under the Bazaar tab at play.rsnc.network. This page is about buying an item another player has already listed. The decision it helps you make: buy an existing listing right now, or post a Want and wait for a better price?
- If someone has listed the item at a price you'll pay, buy the listing — it settles in seconds.
- If nothing on the board is priced where you want it, post a Want (an open buy order) and let a seller come to you. See Wants (Buy Orders).
Browsing Listings
Open the Listings sub-tab. Listings are grouped by category:
Ingredients · Materials · Equipment · Producers · Snacks · Notes · Ascension · Avatars · Other
When you're shopping to cook something specific, use the recipe filter — pick a recipe and the board scopes down to just that recipe's ingredients. It turns "what do I still need for this cook?" into a single filtered view instead of hunting category by category. See Recipes and Cooking for the recipes themselves.
Each listing shows the item, its tier, the quantity available, and the seller's per-unit price.
The 10% fee — what you actually pay
The price on a listing is what the seller receives. As the buyer, you pay that price plus a 10% house fee.
| Listed price | 10% fee | You pay | Seller is credited |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 RSNC | 1 | 11 RSNC | 10 RSNC |
| 100 RSNC | 10 | 110 RSNC | 100 RSNC |
| 250 RSNC | 25 | 275 RSNC | 250 RSNC |
Always read the total the buy screen shows you, not just the sticker price — the 10% is on top.
Buying: press and hold
- Open the listing you want.
- Pick your rail — RSNC, USDSC, or Card. RSNC and USDSC draw from your balances; Card is a standard checkout. (For how the three rails compare, see Spending RSNC on Perks.)
- Press and hold Buy. The hold is a deliberate confirm — it prevents accidental purchases on a live market.
- Staged settlement. The purchase settles in stages over roughly 15 to 20 seconds — verifying, transferring, and delivering the item to your inventory. Let it finish; don't leave the screen mid-settlement.
When it completes, the item lands in your inventory and the seller is credited RSNC.
Player-market trades are final once settled. There's no return flow — confirm the item, tier, and quantity before you hold to buy.
Buy a listing vs. post a Want
| Buy an existing listing | Post a Want |
|---|---|
| Item is on the board at a price you accept | Nothing is listed, or nothing at your price |
| You get it in ~15–20 seconds | You wait for a seller to fulfill |
| You pay listed price + 10% | You set the price you're willing to pay |
If speed matters, buy the listing. If price matters more than timing, head to Wants (Buy Orders).
