Minting & On-Chain Items
Minting is what happens when you claim a perk: the item is recorded on the Soneium blockchain as a token you own. This page covers the one decision minting asks of you — which wallet to mint to — and what the app does behind the progress overlay.
The decision: your built-in wallet or an external one
- Your Resonance wallet (embedded) — the wallet created for you automatically. It's the default, needs no setup, and the claim goes through with no extra confirmation step. Recommended for almost everyone.
- An external wallet — a wallet you connected yourself. Minting here pops a confirmation modal first, because the item is permanent, non-transferable, and can't be undone. Choose this only if you specifically want the token in your own wallet.
When you mint to an external wallet, the app warns you before it proceeds: the item lands there permanently, can't be transferred, and can't be reversed. Minting to your built-in Resonance wallet skips this modal entirely.
Gasless, with a one-time approval
- You never pay gas. Resonance sponsors every on-chain transaction through a relayer. The only cost you see is the item's price in RSNC / USDSC / Card (or free) — never a separate gas charge.
- You approve once, ever. The first time you spend, you grant a one-time infinite approval. After that, every future claim goes straight through — no repeated approval prompt.
What the progress overlay is doing
When you confirm a claim, a staged overlay walks through these steps in order:
- Verifying balance — confirming you can cover the price
- Consolidating your balance — pulling together funds across your linked wallets
- Authorizing purchase — the on-chain spend
- Delivering your goodies! — minting the item to your chosen wallet
- Validating delivery — confirming it landed
If a mint ever fails to land, the app offers a free re-delivery — you're never charged twice.
Your items are soulbound
Items you own are soulbound: they're tied to you and are not transferable, and they're never burned when you sell or move them. When you sell an item on the Bazaar, it's the listing that's retired — the token itself stays put.
Seeing your item on-chain
After a mint you can open the token on the Soneium block explorer to confirm it landed. Forged Avatars show a Token # link straight to the explorer, plus a "now in your wallet" confirmation. You can review your claimed items any time in the My Perks tab at play.rsnc.network.
