Creating a Perk
Perks are the rewards your customers can redeem with their RSNC credits—discounts, VIP access, or special offers. This guide walks you through creating a new perk using the Perk Creation Wizard in your Resonance Partner Portal.
What is a Perk?
A Perk is a redeemable reward that customers claim using their accumulated RSNC credits. When a customer claims a perk, they spend RSNC and receive a digital certificate (and any redemption data you configure, e.g., a coupon code).
Step 1: Open Redeem and Start the Wizard
- From your Dashboard, click Redeem (or go to Redeem in the hub).
- You'll see your perks list (or "No perks yet" if this is your first).
- Click "Create Perk" at the top right.
This opens the Perk Creation Wizard, a short multi-step flow.
Step 2: Basic Info
In the first step you’ll enter:
- Perk Name (required) – e.g., "10% Off Next Purchase" or "VIP Discord Access"
- Price (RSNC Points) (required) – how many RSNC users must spend to claim
- Category – e.g., General, Discount, Merchandise, Experience, Digital, Access
- Description (optional) – short note describing what the perk unlocks
- Perk Media – one image or video only (upload or paste a URL). Image: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (max 5 MB). Video: MP4, WebM, MOV (max 10 MB). Choose one; the wizard enforces a single media type per perk.
- Active (toggle) – keep ON so the perk is visible and claimable
Click Next to continue.
Step 3: Supply & Pricing
Configure availability (if you want limits):
- Max supply – total number of times the perk can be claimed (optional; leave blank or set to 0 for unlimited)
- Max per user – how many times each user can claim this perk (optional; leave blank for unlimited)
Click Next.
Step 4: Redemption
Define how customers receive the reward when they claim:
- Redemption type – e.g., Code (most common), Link, or Webhook
- Value – for Code: the coupon or code you want applied (e.g.,
VIP-SUMMER-2025). This is encrypted and only revealed to the user on successful redemption. - Instructions (optional) – text shown to the user after they claim
- Widget / Iframe mode – enable if your checkout or booking uses an iframe; the SDK can pass the code via URL (e.g.,
?coupon=...) instead of filling a field - Single-use code – if enabled, a unique suffix is appended per redemption (e.g.,
VIP2025-ABCD); your store must support that pattern
Click Next.
Step 5: Review and Create
Review the summary: name, price, category, media, supply, redemption type, and value.
Click "Create Perk" (or the final submit button). After a short moment you’ll see a success message and the new perk will appear in your Redeem list.
Managing Existing Perks
Edit a Perk
- Go to Redeem and find the perk in the list.
- Click Edit (or open the perk).
- Update any fields; redemption settings can be changed when editing.
- Save your changes.
Disable a Perk
- Find the perk in Redeem.
- Turn the status toggle OFF (or use the disable option in the UI).
- The perk will no longer be visible or claimable.
View Perk Claims
- Open the perk from Redeem.
- Use the Claims (or similar) tab to see total claims, who claimed, when, and any transaction details.
Common Perk Examples
Discount – "10% Off Next Purchase" (500 RSNC), "Free Shipping" (300 RSNC), "$5 Store Credit" (500 RSNC)
Access – "VIP Discord Access" (1,000 RSNC), "Early Product Access" (2,000 RSNC)
Experience – "Free Coffee" (200 RSNC), "30-Min Consultation" (1,500 RSNC), "Priority Support" (1,000 RSNC)
Digital – "Download Premium Guide" (500 RSNC), "Exclusive Wallpaper Pack" (300 RSNC)
Best Practices
- Pricing: Low (100–500 RSNC) for frequent engagement; mid (500–2,000 RSNC) for regular customers; high (2,000+ RSNC) for premium rewards.
- Supply limits: Use to create urgency or manage physical inventory.
- Per-user limits: Use to prevent abuse or cap recurring costs.
- Naming: Be clear and specific (e.g., "20% Off Next Order" rather than "Special Deal").
Redemption Flow (Customer)
- Customer browses the perk marketplace (or your site with embedded perks).
- Clicks Claim Perk and confirms (no extra fees).
- RSNC is deducted; a digital certificate is created; they get any redemption data (e.g., code).
- You see the claim in Redeem (and in Stats).
Next Steps
- Redemption Integration – Add the SDK and handle the redemption event on your site (e.g., cart page) so the discount is applied automatically.
- Stats – Monitor which perks are most popular and adjust pricing or supply.
